Lately, we have seen an increased number of spam and phishing threats, so to improve your protection; we are introducing additional anti-phishing and anti-spoofing capabilities.
There is no action required to receive the benefits of these changes.
- – Improved SPF check. We expanded it to emails with Null Envelope-From sender, such as an out of office notification email. This will protect against mails claiming to come from a specific domain but submitted by an IP address not authorized by that domain’s administrators.
- – We will consider Non-SPF-aligned emails as “Emails that ‘error’ the SPF check” and apply action from a related section of your filtering policy. SPF Alignment is the alignment of the domain and the MailFrom / Return Path domain. We are doing that check because the domain can be easily spoofed by fraudsters and used to trick people into opening malicious emails and clicking malicious links.
- – We are improving the accuracy of external message detection and impersonation checks.
